Frequently asked questions
The Maplewood Community Fund will consider supporting any project, or general support to an organization, that will enhance the health, well-being, or quality of life in Maplewood.
There are not specific minimum or maximum requirements for the grant application. Please take the time needed to explain the challenge/need you face, how funds will address your challenge/need, and specific goals of your project. A longer application is not necessarily a stronger application.
No. Grants may be awarded to individuals, non-profit organizations, or organizations who are not registered non-profits.
An organization or individual may submit multiple applications for different projects. A separate application is required for each project.
After the grant closes on October 31st, a group of community advisors will evaluate the grant, using this rubric. Scores from community advisors will be given to the Maplewood Community Fund Board of Directors who will make the final decision on grant awards.
Community reviewers will score grant applications in November and the Board will meet to make the final decision about grant making in December. Organizations will be informed if they have or have not been funded by December 20, 2025.
Grantees will be asked to provide a brief written report (oral reports will be accepted under some circumstances, if requested) on the impact of funds received, after the completion of their project.
Grants of up to $1,000 will be awarded to individuals and organizations.
For organizations asking for funds for a specific project, you may submit your project budget in whatever format is simplest to you. If a grant from the MCF will not cover the full cost of your project, we ask that you explain what other funds will be used to complete the project, and if those funds are pending or committed. A sample budget can be found here.
For organizations asking for general support, we ask for a copy of your current annual organizational budget.
For individuals, you need not submit a budget, but please explain use and impact of funds requested.
Yes. If so, instead of submitting a project budget, please include your current organizational budget.
It’s never too late to donate to the Fund! We are always accepting one time or monthly donations. Every dollar raised between now and 12/15 will be additional funds we can grant back to the community in this funding cycle.
